Ricky Hatton, fresh off his win
over Jose Luis Cas
tillo,
is ready and willing to fight Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Mayweather, considered
the best pound for pound boxer in the world, who, after having won another
belt against Oscar De La Hoya May 5th, had said that after the De
La Hoya fight he would retire. But it seems that Hatton, the undefeated
Englishman, has awoken the beast with his trash talking.
"I was retired but I'll sign to fight Hatton
right now. I've tried to let the things he said about me slide by, but now
he's dissing me on national TV and I want to shut him up. I've never wanted
to hurt an opponent like I do Hatton.” Mayweather said. Hatton is 41-0 as a
professional, with 31 KOs. Mayweather is 38-0, including wins over Arturo
Gatti, Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo (twice), Zab Judah and of course
Oscar De La Hoya. The fight is rumored to be taking place in the early fall,
and the fight will be for the 147 welterweight championship.
