Ref Scandal

Well if you thought things could not get worse for the sports world it just
did, NBA official Tim Donaghy is now being investigated by the FBI for point
shaving and betting on games that he actually officiated. This has been said
to have been going on for years now, well if it has then why hasn’t any one
stepped up and said enough is enough. This
will
defiantly be a black eye for the league and cause tremendous problems for
the NBA in this upcoming season. The NBA has stood on the fact that their
sport has not been in any part of any scandals for the past ten years, now
they sit on top of one of the worst scandals in sports history. There have
been many games that are in speculation that Donaghy has officiated. The
most notable that come to mind is the one the game between the New York
Knicks and the Miami Heat were there were knicks won 99-93 but in the last
three minutes of the game the Knicks got more then twenty free-throws in
those final three minutes a little fishy I would assume so. But if you think
this only could happen in the NBA you must be mistaking it could happen in
the NFL as well, but you hope that with the good nature in the NFL that it
doesn’t happen their. Well as far as I am concerned the proverbial has hit
the fan for Donaghy and he should not be refereeing in an NBA game ever
again. Cheating should not be accepted in any sport by players or coaches or
by the referees. There needs to be a line and that line has been crossed big
time here and Stern needs to step in and do what he has to do to resolve
this problem.
